To be honest, it's kinda off putting to have a full minute of loose advertisements before saying anything of substance. You then hop into another ad pretty swiftly; by 4 minutes in, half of the runtime is just trying to extract money from me - when I'm here for guidance in my personal spiritual journey. People coming here are likely to be new converts, by virtue of them not yet having a patron - so I ask you kindly to not shake people's newly found faith by putting material gain over (or on par) with the transcendent. The material is in service to the spiritual, and you're reflecting an inversion of that core principal here - and that's what occultists do.

We love our parish, parishioners and priest but when they first decided to build a new church, the priest at the time, decided to go with a more modern approach- ours literally looks like a tv prosperity church. Beautiful people, ugly building.

Hey Amber or chat. I was a Protestant as a child and young boy. I lost my faith. I had a pull or calling to the Catholic Church for whatever reason as a 46 year old. I’ve attended several masses. I do like everything about it so far. It’s really exactly what I was searching for. But I’m having a hard time with other parish member’s. No one really reaches out to you and introduces themselves. I guess I’m guilty of that as well. So I have a difficult time with that. It’s quite different from the churches I attended as a child. All the member’s seem a lot older than me as well. But I look forward to it every week. I enjoy it. I’m currently attending vigil mass on Saturday afternoons, maybe that makes a difference in the crowds. I will also be starting OCIA classes in a few months. Any advice on reaching out. I’m a bit nervous to do anything as a a beginner.

Thank you for addressing the altar girl issue. Children are informed by what they see. I remember as a child in the 1980s not understanding the girls altar serving bc the nuns at school never served at mass. I asked the nuns about this and they had no answer. A lot of things at church that didn’t make logical sense to me as a child were actually abuses that were happening under the guise of Vatican 2. I had no idea about this until I stumbled upon my first reverent NO in my 30s. It changed my life. I’ve considered going to the TLM but it is so far from me. However given recent events, I’ve decided to go for it. I watched your video in prep for my first TLM this weekend. Thank you for the info.

This is an incredible episode. Thank you for it. I watched another video critiquing some of the songs on her new album a few days ago and felt convicted. This adds to that immensely. I will have to decide if I will be consuming her content that isn't so vulgar. It's a challenge also in that some of the teachers at the school I work at are really into Taylor and play her music all the time for the kids (which I haven't had a problem with but now have concerns at the very least on what they play). Anyhow, this is worth a re-listen. Thank you so much for your share. It's beautiful and inspiring seeing God work in the young, including you.

So what's next--no more meat on Fridays? I think any priest who would enforce veiling in church should also enforce the rule (still on the books) that men & boys and women & girls should sit on opposite sides of the church.

Also, a huge difference between the New Mass and the TLM is that anyone coming from the New Mass has been conditioned to believe that unless they are "participating orally" they are not doing what they "should be doing". In the TLM, the faithful are given the great gift of being able to have silent prayer that they offer to God through the priest during the mass, and the priest offers those prayers on the altar. It can be extemporaneous prayer, it can be the rosary, whatever! When the priest makes a body full circle and says "oratre fratres", it is kind of like he is taking all of our prayers, and placing them on the altar before he begins the offertory. It's a bit hard to get used to when you are trained to think that you're not participating unless you're talking, but it's the way the faithful prayed for 1,969 years give or take!

This is the first time I have ever seen your page and I was interested in your website, so I checked it out. I'm very impressed and I will share it with friends who I would like to introduce to the TLM. I'm not here to criticize, but, that being said, I think that spaghetti straps are inappropriate at any time. Same with mini dresses/skirts and things of that nature. We must remember that God is everywhere, and we must never offend him. Also men are "visually wired" and they have a hard enough time dealing with the fall of Adam and Eve, and all that that temptation brings. Let's make it easier for them! Let's not give into our own weakness, which is to "be sexy"…

I have learned that around the same time, that millions of Protestants had left the Catholic Church, god had sent, our blessed mother; to convert millions of native Mexicans to Catholicism. I use to be skeptical about, the role Mary played in Christianity. That was until, I learned of this. There is so much history online regarding the Catholic Church, and why millions left but millions elsewhere in a pagan country were brought to Christianity. I believe god, had sent our blessed mother to convert millions and will continue on trying to reach us with Mary’s help.
